Pablo Picasso “Woman in a Red Armchair” / spray paint

(In June 2012, a man defaced this 1929 painting while it was on display at the Menil Collection in Houston, TX. The vandal, a Mexican-American artist named Uriel Landeros, used spray paint and a stencil to paint a bull and the word “Conquista” on the work. When a witness confronted Landeros, he identified himself and said the act was intended to honor Picasso’s work. Landeros left the museum before he could be arrested; the damaged painting was able to be restored in short order.)
